Inspired by autumn

I love autumn when the leaves start to change colour and fall gracefully from the trees, as they prepare for the arrival of winter. What remains is a beautiful array of vibrant rich colour. Golden yellows, warm reds along with rich chocolate and purple are just a few from the rich jewels of autumn. I am also fascinated by how the leaves begin to change in texture as they begin to decompose.

Feeling inspired by natures rich palette of colour, I collected a few, took photographs for reference and then prepared my collection ready to press. I intended to create art that would highlight not only the interesting colours of autumn but also the many different shapes and unusual textures of the leaves.
